Day 1: Welcome to Kigali
- Pick-up on arrival at Kigali International Airport or from your preferred location.
- Meet and greet with savvy tour representative who will shortly brief you about your tour in Rwanda and immediate transfer to your hotel in Kigali.
Overnight stay at Marriot Hotel
Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Akagera
- Morning after breakfast you will check-out from the hotel.
- Half-day Kigali City Tour – you will visit one or two cultural or historical sites
(e.g. Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kimironko Market, or Nyamirambo Women’s Center).
- Afternoon after city tour you will drive to Akagera National Park.
Check-in and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 3: Boat Safari & Full Day Game Drive
- Early morning relaxation at the lodge.
- Late morning: Sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema – observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife.
- Afternoon: Full-day game drive across the southern and central circuits of Akagera.
Transfer to Karenge Bush Camp for a wilderness overnight stay.
Day 4: Sunrise Safari & Night Game Drive
- Early morning game drive to the Kilala Plains, where you’ll witness animals during their sunrise routines. This time you will have a perfect photo opportunity.
- After you will return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.
- Short mid-morning game drive exploring the northern sector of the park. • Evening night game drive for a chance to spot nocturnal wildlife.
Overnight at Karenge Bush Camp.
Day 5: Scenic Return to Kigali
- Morning check-out from the camp.
- Drive back to Kigali via the scenic Nyagatare-Kigali route, offering stunning views of Rwanda’s iconic thousand hills and countryside.
Drop-off to your hotel in Kigali.
